Chateau du Plessis is able to offer you, from October to April, very affordable self-catering accommodation.  Minimum 3-month stay, you get rent 1/2 price.

Each house has its own independent heating system, plus a wood burner.
Wood, electricty & gas for heating/cooking are charged every month on consumption.

Send your child to the bilingual school
Notre Dame La Riche is a private bilingual school in French & English.
This inexpensive school is in Tours, 15 mn by car from the Chateau. Your children will be very well looked after. You have to apply in advance for your children from 3 to 18 yr olds.

 A small and very active group of parents organise the extra-curricula life: christmas market, carnival time, summer fête, etc... A good reason to join the group and be quickly part of the team. The school fees can be paid per term or per month, for example, junior school, 1200 Euros per year including canteen lunch.

Rent an unfurnished house
Buy or rent? Renting can be a long-term solution.
After our furnished rental, you'll know the area better and be able to find a "permanent" home if you wish extend your stay. If you're unsure of the time you will stay, renting is less capital invested, and you avoid the cost of registration and state agency fees      .

You'd have to buy furniture in France or to ship your furniture over. There isn't any efficient furniture rental services in France. Note that some kitchens are not furnished at all. Electricity is 220 Volts.

 

Adults courses to learn French
Tours has many language schools for all levels.
They offer a wide variety of courses. Tours is the best place to learn French in France because of the very pure, accent-free French spoken in the area.                               

The University of Tours and various private schools offer you courses to perfect your French. A good understanding of French is very important for your life in France to be easier.

 

Buy your property in the Touraine
 The opportunity to buy a property in France for a long period only.
Purchasing a property in France is different than in many countries, and selling after a short period creates a loss financially. The advertised cost of a property includes state agency fees but not registration fees "Frais de notaire et enregistrement" of 7% to 8%.

The Touraine was a very rich part of France and many beautiful houses, manors or chateaux can by found here. Most of the good opportunities are in the countryside. Houses are often sold with no kitchen furniture or not uptodate, particularly out-of-date bathrooms!

 

Rent or lease your car in France
If you plan to remain for a long stay, renting a car is not the best solution
You can buy a car through a rental company and pay only a lease every month. If you are a non-European citizen, you will get a discount of the amount of the VAT 19,6% and you will get a red number plate. After 6 months you will have to buy a car or pay the VAT.

A lot a companies can offer this service. Some of our former guests used AVIS and had no problem, even after a write-off! If they need a repair or it can be changed in a day. This is a good solution if looking for an automatic car.
